Reflection

My messy make up table had been bothering me for weeks. So I cleaned it up and decided it deserved a photo… (because who knows how long it will stay this clean).

A reflection of me and said make up table.

On social media I’ve been seeing a lot about resolutions, plans, reflections and even “one little word” as we look towards a new year.

In considering the latter, I gotta say my 2017 #onelittleword is going to be build. I have so much to build on, build up, build with – and accepting this is kind of exhilarating!

Merry Christmas 2016!

Yesterday we spent the day baking, singing christmas carols, cooking and preparing for the big day.

The day before Christmas is OUR day :)  The three of us celebrate at home with our version of Christmas Evening Dinner.  This year, we had garlic butter herb tilapia, creamy mash and balsamic green beans with toasted almonds.

We are off to my parents house for more gifting, eating and fun.  Hope everyone enjoys their day!

Our Halloween 2016

We had a quieter than expected halloween this year.  Only me and the little miss dressed up, no pumpkin patch, couldn’t find most of my halloween decor and we didn’t even get to carve a pumpkin (thanks in part to the Mister’s school and all the other festivals happening at this time of year).

Buuuttt that doesn’t mean I can’t have any pumpkins in my life :)

Captured these interesting looking jack-os at the grocery store – how do they even get like this?

Annnddd a little throwback to last year :)  Anyone else ready to chuck out the rest of this year’s halloween stash of candy??

First Day of Fall #FallFavorites

For some reason, I almost forgot that it was time to put up our Fall decor – even though today is the FIRST day of Fall!  It’s been summer weather for the last few weeks here in Toronto so I am still wanting to drink iced coffees and to wear open toe shoes.

Aaanyyywho, winter will be here before we know it and I’ve heard it’s going to be brutal.  So time to enjoy the Fall and plan some fun activities: a visit to the Pumpkin Patch, Fall baking and Festive munchies, My birthday and of course Halloween!

Sharing a few Fall Favourites because shopping always helps gets us in the spirit #amirite?

#WorldGratitudeDay

How did I not know that this day existed?  Gratitude is such an important part of my daily life.  I’ve also started asking Miss S to tell me who and what she’s thankful for (it’s pretty hilarious when she mentions her stuffies or a random cup she was obsessed that day).  To get the hubz into it I usually ask while we are having dinner.

I read an interesting article (which you can read here if you like), and the number one question to ask yourself if you want to be happy (according to neuroscience) is what am I grateful for? And the cool thing about this is that “You don’t have to find anything. It’s the searching that counts.”

What are you grateful for today?
