Next time I’ll write down that lyric

The last few days have been unbearably HUMID.  It’s no longer pleasant to take a walk outside on your lunch hour, waiting for the commuter train on the platform is daunting because the heat makes it hard to breath, and even after dinner it still feels like an oven so going for a walk to the park is not even an option. #SoReadyForFall

Thankfully it’s raining today, which has actually cooled things off a bit – so much so I had to wrap my shoulders in a shawl when we decided to take Miss S to the park after our dinner out today.

Love this shot I took on the drive back from the city.  The iPhone was trying to focus with the motion of the car.  I am actually glad it didn’t.  I started reading this book – and I am hooked.  I felt kind of after reading this and this, I realized I needed something thrilling and no so inspirational.  I am sure I’ll be eating my words after this book scares the shIt out of me.

Outside of not wanting to read motivational and self betterment books, I’ve been saturating my self with positive quotes, inspirational tip and ideas on self care.  Also found this on pinterest last week – can’t wait for there to be a printable version!

Finally, I’ve gotten bit by the moleskin hack bug.  It happens a few times a year and it makes me feel so organized (even though it’s just the prep needed to become more organized).

Who else is ready for Fall?  Do you think self care is important? What books have you read and recommend?

Yogi and Surfer #DreamLife

I want to be a yogi, well not in the truest sense but I want to be able to do sun salutations with ease, perfect my downward dog and do a headstand.

The benefits of yoga are amazing. So I’ve decided that I want get into some good habits. Two years ago, I was doing my yoga practice 3-4 times a week.  And it was probably the best thing I could’ve done for my mind, body and soul.  Then motherhood came along and I put myself last on the list.  So in an effort to get back into my practice, I’ve started doing sun salutations (at least 4 rounds) 2-3 times a week.  The best thing about doing sun salutations I can do it anywhere any time.  All I need is a little open space and a mat (or a towel).

The last winter storm

Ahh famous last words for us Canadians, who technically don’t put their winter coats away until some time in May.
We had a winter storm which was kind of like a scene from Day After Tomorrow, you know where everything freezes in a mater of minutes.  As scary as that scene was in the movie, it makes for beautiful pictures.

I’ve recently updated my Etsy shop and added a few listings (that were from the #VaughanOfAKind show) but didn’t get a chance to do so earlier.  You can check them out here, here and here.

Vastness [Dec 31st 2015]

Vastness_123115

I cannot believe we are entering 2016…#JawDrop. It’s true what they say about life after kids, the days are long but the years fly by.  That said, the mister and I have been in the throws of dealing with Miss S in what seems like the terrible twos (even though she’s only 1).  She answers “no” or “nope” A LOT, started saying “mine” and even fake cries!   It’s hard but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love it.

Aside from that, took some time out to write my New Years Resolutions!   I am try to keep them down to 3 or 4 thoughts and this coming year they are around fostering good relationships and changing my ideas about my food intake and decluttering and living more simply.

Happy New Year!
